What happens to the data of people who write to me through the site. The site uses no tracking cookies and no analytics.
Who handles the data
The data controller is me, Alex Kovacic, VAT IT08715550961, based at Via Carso 57, 22069 Rovellasca (CO), Italy. For any question about your data, write to gokalex@gokalex.com.
What data I collect
Only what you send me with the contact form: name, email, company if you give it, the message and any attachment. To stop spam I also use your IP address, as described below.
Why, and on what basis
I use the data to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a quote: these are pre-contractual steps you request (art. 6.1.b GDPR). The spam check and the sending limit protect the form from abuse, which is my legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).
Where it goes, and for how long
Your message arrives as an email in my mailbox gokalex@gokalex.com, on my provider's mail server. The site stores neither messages nor attachments.
After you send it, the site emails an automatic confirmation to the address you entered in the form. The confirmation does not repeat your message.
For the sending limit the site keeps a code derived from the IP address with a secret key, from which the address can't be rebuilt. The code is needed for one hour and is deleted with the first message sent after that hour, by anyone.
I keep emails as long as I need them to reply and, if work comes out of it, for its duration and the legal obligations that follow, such as tax rules.
Who else sees it
The provider that hosts the site and the mail, OVH, based in France, which handles it on my behalf.
Cloudflare, for the Turnstile spam check on the Contact page: it receives the IP address and some technical details about the browser to tell whether a person is writing. Cloudflare is based in the United States; how it handles the data is described in the Turnstile privacy policy.
I don't sell or pass the data to anyone else.
Cookies and server logs
The site uses no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts and images are on my server, with no outside services. Like any server, the provider's keeps technical logs with IP address, date and page requested, for security and to fix faults.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its processing or receive it in a readable format (art. 15-21 GDPR): an email to gokalex@gokalex.com is enough. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante).
