About me
I'm Alex Kovacic, a freelance developer with an Italian VAT number. I've been programming since 2010 and have delivered more than 200 projects.
How I started
I've loved computers since I was a kid. In middle school I built my first PC, and around the same time I started programming. I haven't stopped since.
What I do
Mostly I write business web apps: the software a company uses to handle orders, stock, quotes and invoices, built around its own rules. I also build websites, apps for people who work away from the office, and look after the servers all of this runs on. The full list is in Services.
I work on my own. When you write to me you talk to me, and the person who does the analysis is the same one who writes the code and answers when something stops working.
Software I use myself
I have two products of my own. SitePing keeps an eye on an agency's WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and PrestaShop sites and sends an alert when something breaks; I use it for the sites I look after too. KardPal puts loyalty cards on your phone and works without a connection, in 8 languages.
My own business runs on software I wrote as well. The gokalex CRM keeps track of invoices, payments and renewals, and replaced a spreadsheet with 18 tabs.
The agency in Switzerland
I also work part-time at a communication agency in Switzerland. It keeps me close to the people who then have to explain and sell a piece of software, and it shows in the interfaces I design.
Where I am
In Rovellasca, in the province of Como, between Milan and the Swiss border. I have clients in Italy, Switzerland and elsewhere; with those further away I work remotely, in English or Italian.
Phone, email and hours are on the Contact page.
