E-commerce in Friuli Venezia Giulia: two grants with opposite timing

In Friuli Venezia Giulia, retail SMEs apply for up to 50% of a new online shop before starting, by 30 November 2026. Craft businesses apply once the work is finished and paid, by 31 December 2026. Both cover development, the link to the management software and secure payments.

Retail: article 129, apply before spending

The measure comes from article 129 of regional law 17/2025 and is run by CATT FVG. The window is open from 10:00 on 29 June to 16:00 on 30 November 2026, in order of filing, and the decision comes within 90 days.

  • retail SMEs with an active local unit in the region, even if the registered office is elsewhere;
  • e-commerce spending from EUR 5,000 to 75,000, with a 35% base rate and 50% at most;
  • only costs after the application count: contract, start of work and invoices come later;
  • 12 months from the grant decision to finish, with at most a 6-month extension;
  • an advance of up to 70% without a bank guarantee for grants up to EUR 15,000.

It covers developing and customising the online sales application with specialist consulting, integration with other business systems, processes between shop and suppliers, the front end, secure payments and hardware for a single workstation. Programs for internal organisation, such as accounting and plain stock management, are excluded.

Craft firms: CATA's grant, apply once the work is done

Businesses in the regional register of craft firms fall under regional regulation DPReg 33/2012. Applications run from 10:00 on 31 March to 16:00 on 31 December 2026, in order of arrival for each province.

  • the application goes in with the expense report: the work must be finished, invoiced and paid first;
  • costs from 1 January 2025 count;
  • spending from EUR 3,000 to 30,000;
  • if the province's funds run out, the application is put on hold, at most until 31 March of the next year.

It covers a website built for online sales, e-commerce and business-to-business applications, links to stock, sales, CRM and business intelligence, translations, photos and videos for the site, domain, mailbox and web marketing studies. Rebuilding an existing site also counts, if the change is substantial.

What it means for you

For a shop the deadline is close: the application goes in by 30 November, with the quote, and the work starts afterwards. For a craft firm the calendar is easier, but you pay for all the work before knowing whether your province's funds are enough.

The link to the management software is the item worth writing most carefully. The article 129 FAQ allows it only as part of the online shop, so the quote must say what gets synced: stock, orders, prices.

What I do

  • the online shop or the B2B portal for resellers;
  • the link between shop and management software, so stock and orders update on their own;
  • secure payments and protected logins;
  • the quote split into the measure's items, with hosting and support kept apart, since the grant doesn't cover them.

What I don't do

I don't file the application or check the business's eligibility. This page summarises the article 129 notice, regulation DPReg 67/2026 with its FAQ, regulation DPReg 33/2012 and the CATA and Region pages, as read on 5 November 2026. The regulations are the reference.

Frequently asked questions

Which of the two is for me?

It depends on your registration. Retail SMEs with an ATECO code on CATT's list, even a secondary one, use article 129. Businesses in the regional register of craft firms use CATA's grant; they can also use article 129, but only for sales-related costs.

How much do I get?

Under article 129, a 35% base rate on spending from EUR 5,000 to 75,000, rising to at most 50% with bonuses: typical local products, legality rating, training, company agreements. For craft firms the regulation gives 30% on spending from EUR 3,000 to 30,000, plus 10 points for youth-led, women-led or disadvantaged-area firms and 5 with a legality rating. The Region's page says 40%, up to 50%: ask CATA which applies.

Do hosting, subscriptions and maintenance count?

No, in neither: hosting fees, subscriptions and multi-year maintenance contracts are excluded. For article 129 the FAQ also excludes subscription software licences, social media management and videos. Warehouse software counts only as a module linked to the shop that syncs stock, orders and catalogue.

Can you be the supplier from Lombardy?

Yes: neither measure sets location or certification rules for suppliers. Dealings between spouses, relatives up to the second degree, partners and directors are excluded. For craft firms the regulation also asks that the consultant's ATECO activity code matches the work, as shown in the business register or an equivalent document.
