Italy's start-up grants: website, app and software for new businesses

If you're opening a business with Italy's Autoimpiego Centro-Nord or Resto al Sud 2.0, software, apps and a promotional website can go in the spending plan, and in the Centre-North 20% digital spending can add EUR 10,000 to the voucher.

The two schemes

Both are run by Invitalia, have been active since 15 October 2025 and take applications in order of arrival until funds run out.

  • Autoimpiego Centro-Nord: grant voucher up to EUR 30,000, 40,000 with the supplement; a 65% grant on investments up to EUR 120,000 and 60% from EUR 120,000 to 200,000; EUR 219.6 million of funding.
  • Resto al Sud 2.0: grant voucher up to EUR 40,000, 50,000 with the supplement; a 75% grant on investments up to EUR 120,000 and 70% from EUR 120,000 to 200,000; EUR 356.4 million of funding.

Autoimpiego covers Piedmont, Aosta Valley, Liguria, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria and Marche. Resto al Sud covers Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily.

What counts on the IT side

For Autoimpiego Centro-Nord, Invitalia accepts software and licences, the design and development of application software, digital platforms and apps, and promotional web portals. For Resto al Sud 2.0, check the "eligible costs" section on its page.

The EUR 10,000 Centre-North supplement must be requested in the application. One of two conditions is that at least 20% of admitted spending goes on technological or digital goods or services, or on sustainability and energy saving.

How I use this for you

These are the schemes where my work can really go in the spending plan, because I see no supplier list here. Before you apply I prepare a quote split into items your adviser can put in the plan. After approval I do the work:

I also hand over the code and what you need for reporting: invoices matching the plan and a description of the work done.

What I don't do

I don't prepare the application or business plan: that's for Invitalia, accredited bodies and consultants. This page summarises Invitalia's pages as read on 31 October 2026, which show both schemes as active. Check the window before relying on the funds.

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply?

People under 35 who are inactive or unemployed, unemployed people on the GOL programme and the working poor, starting a business in the regions covered. Agriculture, fishing and aquaculture are excluded. Exact conditions are on Invitalia's pages.

Can I start the website before applying?

Better not. For Autoimpiego Centro-Nord, Invitalia says the plan must start after the application and only later invoices count. You can get a quote before that.

Does the voucher pay the consultant who prepares the application?

No: consulting to prepare the application is excluded, as is legal and tax advice.

Do I really need custom software?

Often not at the start. To open, a website and a ready-made program are usually enough. I say so because spending has to fit the business, and a voucher spent badly doesn't come back.
