Italian e-invoices and SDI status inside your business software
If you invoice in Italy, every invoice goes through the SDI, the tax agency's exchange system. I connect your business software to your e-invoicing service, so invoices aren't retyped and their SDI status and payments show up where you work.

Three programs for one invoice
The customer lives in the business software, the invoice is made on the e-invoicing service's website and payments are checked in online banking. Every invoice means retyping name, VAT number and amounts, and now and then a wrong figure.
To find out whether the SDI delivered or rejected an invoice, someone logs into the service. To find out who still owes money, someone compares the bank statement with the invoices by hand.
What the connection does
- Invoices from the service come into the business software, each with its SDI status: delivered, rejected, pending.
- Each invoice records down payments and balances, and the amount still due works itself out.
- Bank transactions are matched against open invoices.
- The draft invoice starts from the business software, with the customer details already right.
How I use it myself
The CRM I run my own business on reads invoices from fatturapa.com with their SDI status. Payments come from the bank statement: if the reference mentions the invoice and the amount matches, the invoice is marked paid without me touching anything. Time logged on tasks becomes the draft of the next invoice.
The Dracartys CRM is also connected to e-invoicing, alongside WooCommerce, eBay and Vinted.
Who does what
The business software doesn't send invoices to the SDI itself. The e-invoicing service does that, and also takes care of legally compliant storage; the business software hands it the data and reads the replies. Your accountant keeps using the service they know, and if you ever change business software the invoices stay where they are.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work with Fatture in Cloud or other services?
Yes: I have already connected fatturapa.com and Fatture in Cloud. For another service I read its documentation first and tell you what can be done.
We're a foreign company invoicing in Italy. Is this for us?
Yes, if your invoices to Italian customers go through the SDI. The business software can be in English while the invoices follow the Italian format.
Do we have to change e-invoicing service?
Usually not: you keep the one you use and the business software talks to it. If your service has no API, I tell you during the first analysis, which is free.
How does the software know an invoice was paid?
From the bank statement. If the payment reference mentions the invoice number and the amount matches, it marks the invoice paid on its own; anything else waits for someone to confirm.
